For the Dome Keeper fans out there!

Mining, Roguelike, Survival, and Rotated 90 Degrees

As the title above mentions, if you are a Dome Keeper fan, Wall World may be of huge interest to you! As you'll learn reading the Play Indies blogs, I am a huge Roguelike and Tower Defense fan, and this one definitely scratches that itch for me!

Wall World is extremely difficult from the start, really playing into the fact that you NEED to die in order to keep progressing further. The upgrade systems throughout the game benefit not only you but your mobile base as well. And the upgrades are REALLY nice. Expect frustration going into the game as I definitely had my struggles even getting to the first boss and especially defeating it. Don't judge me! -.-

Now, I haven't gotten far enough into the game just yet, but as far as I am aware, the vertical climbing & horizontal mining is more of an aesthetic difference in comparison to other similar titles. HOWEVER, it does make for some fun differences for sure with your base having to physically move itself up the map in order to get to more mining areas. Makes for some good time-based strategic choices for the player to make while trying to survive invasion after invasion.

You honestly can't beat the cost

It seems to be pretty popular to judge a game's value based off of the $1/hr scale nowadays. For $6.99 I feel like you are definitely getting 7 hours minimum worth of enjoyment (and frustration) out of Wall World. But again, you definitely need to be a fan of Roguelike games because if you go into the title wanting to progress pretty far into the game prior to dying, you're looking at the wrong game. The upgrade systems and the desire to want to progress just a bit further each time is really what makes this game special. It just feels so satisfying to purchase the upgrade you were looking for and see it reflect in the next session.

Secondly, these types of games are ALWAYS going on sale. Even at the time of writing this article, the game is 60% off, so you can literally get into the game for less than $3. There's absolutely no reason not to give it a try, plus you'll be supporting small indies! Get in and enjoy a beautiful world of chaotic invasions and mining adventures!

Final Thoughts

If it wasn't apparent from everything written above, Wall World is absolutely worth checking out. From the unique perspective to the incredible $ per playtime value, you really can't go wrong with the purchase. And honestly, it is just simply fun. Plus, if you are a Steam Deck owner, the game runs SMOOTH and the session lengths aren't crazy long so you can go about playing the game while you are on your commute or while you have 10 minutes to spare.

If you haven't heard of Wall World before, definitely let me know in the comments below or on the twitter post sharing this article!

Pick up the game. Give this article a like. Leave a comment and tell me your thoughts, especially if you bought it or played it!
